Simple answer, yes. Correct and accurate answer, no! Avocado skin and the pit holds toxins in them. Humans don't eat them and don't feed them to your dog. Apart from the pit being a choking hazard, the pit and skin itself has persin in them, which is poisonous to dogs.
Avocado is perfectly safe for dogs. Avocado flesh even has many benefits for dogs! Vitamins A, B3, B6, C & E, Omega fatty acids, folate, antioxidants, amino acids, magnesium and so much more.
Feeding a variety of foods in rotation, is so much better for your dog than feeding them the same thing, constantly. We don't recommend giving your dog's full Avocado's, but give them a bit here and there. It makes the perfect addition to an enrichment spread! Use in one of our slowfeeders to make a tantalising, tasty and nutritious meal!
