One Bed, Two Dogs: Custom Size Beds for Multi-Dog Households
Anyone with two dogs knows the pattern. You buy two perfectly good beds, set them up side by side, and every morning you find both dogs crammed onto one of them, half on, half off, tangled together and completely content.
Dogs that are bonded often simply prefer to sleep together. You can fight it with two beds forever, or you can give them what they actually want: one bed big enough for both.
The Problem With Standard Sizes
Even the largest off-the-shelf beds are designed for one large dog. Two Labradors, two Staffies, or heaven help you, two Great Danes, will overflow anything in a standard range. What you need isn't "extra large". It's a bed sized for your specific pair.
That's a custom size dog bed job. Because we manufacture everything ourselves in Rutherford, NSW (see how our beds are made), we can build to whatever length and width your dogs need. The largest we've made so far is 2m x 1.2m, genuinely enough room for two very big dogs, or one giant breed with room to spare.
Sizing for Two Dogs
Watch how your dogs actually sleep together:
The stackers. Dogs who pile on top of each other need less width than you'd think, but generous length.
The parallel sleepers. Side-by-side dogs need the combined width of both, stretched out.
The starfish and the curler. Measure for the sprawler; the curler will fit around them.
Measure the widest and longest configuration you regularly find them in, add margin, then check the space in your home can take the result. Our sizing and recommendation guide is a useful cross-check.
